Chief Miguel Iglesias: Chief Miguel Iglesias, a retired NYPD Chief, served with distinction for over 30 years. Born in Panama City, Panama, he immigrated to the United States in the 1970s and joined the NYPD in 1991. Over the years, Miguel climbed through the ranks, eventually becoming Chief of Internal Affairs. Known for his integrity and commitment to public safety, he focused on building trust within the community and fostering transparency within the department. Miguel earned a Bachelor’s in Organizational Management and a Master’s in Human Resources Management. His leadership was instrumental in reducing crime and improving internal accountability. In 2022, he was appointed Chief of Internal Affairs, where he led efforts to address misconduct and improve departmental integrity. After retiring in 2025, Miguel’s legacy of ethical leadership continues to impact law enforcement practices. His career serves as an example of dedication, education, and service to the community.
